Pullman High School Receives AIA Honor Award
The reconstruction of Pullman High School has received an Honor Award at the AIA Washington Council’s 2018 Civic Design Awards ceremony. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Pullman Public Schools on this project, and their new facility is a direct result of the district’s commitment to creating exceptional educational environments that foster learning and support each student’s success.
The project was recognized for the various collaboration and social spaces that are located throughout the school, as well as the abundance of natural daylighting that occurs in the central commons area. Judges appreciated the overall character of the building, which successfully balances an almost collegiate aesthetic with a building that responds well to its context within the Palouse hills.
The Civic Design Awards celebrate the best examples of what can be realized when architects and civic clients work together to achieve quality design, and represent the finest standards in innovation, sustainability, building performance, and overall integration with the client and surrounding community. We are incredibly honored to be acknowledged alongside Pullman Public Schools for such an impactful project.
